First patient measurements with auditory stimuli

The first complete patient measurement with auditory stimuli occurred this morning, April 16th, at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital. The team successfully measured the patient last week during surgery and completed the measurements of the auditory stimuli this morning.

Researchers prepared the materials for the measurement early in the morning and validated the device using anthropomorphic phantoms. The protocol started by preparing the patient with the help of the doctors and the patient’s mother. The device took measurements of the patient, who was sleeping, for 20 minutes, and after that, he was discharged and happily went home.

This measurement coincides with the first day of the Consortium meeting, where partners discuss plans to exploit the results, and with the Barcelona Medical Photonics Network 2024, which focuses on photonic technologies for pediatrics.
